Overview
Rethinking one of Mumbai's most familiar everyday objects
Mumbai's auto-rickshaw meter has remained largely unchanged despite evolving commuter expectations. Meterly reimagines the meter experience to improve readability, trust, accessibility, and everyday usability for both passengers and drivers through a modern, user-centred redesign.
Outdated Interfaces Create Everyday Friction
Current rickshaw meters lack navigation, traffic updates, and fare transparency, leaving passengers stuck, overpaying, and distrusting routes. At the same time, drivers face safety, theft, and economic pressures without access to smart, secure systems that protect them.
A Modern Interface for Urban Mobility
Meterly redesigns the rickshaw meter with a clearer interface, improved information hierarchy, and a more intuitive interaction experience. The concept focuses on increasing transparency, enhancing passenger confidence, and creating a product that is easier for both drivers and commuters to use.
